In search of moods for her paintings, Justyna Maria Porowska takes inspiration from photographs and other memories, using current, artistic patterns of representation. Flipping through art books and architecture books allows her to find portraits of architecture that move her. It seems that the individual emotions they evoke are very important: by taking excerpts from them without changing what was originally portrayed, she createsher own personal story. However, the aim is not to create new creations or identities, but to give expression to the aspects of architecture that fascinate her and individuals alike. Exploring the roots of the material, that is, what she sees, is not art on some mysterious level. She wishes to be simple in what she conveys, without unnecessary, naïve-sensual intuition, but rather with an open eye for the overlooked.
